  • 0 . . would never doze
  • 1 . . slight chance of dozing
  • 2 . . moderate chance of dozing
  • 3 . . high chance of dozing

  • The average school is 4
  • Scores between 10 and 14 indicate a moderate excess of daytime sleepiness
  • Scores of 15 and over indicate a severe excessive tendency to fall asleep during the day.
  • There are roughly 12 times the number of fall asleep motor vehicle accidents, where this Epworth score is 18 or higher.
